I am now back full circle in San Diego at the Freddo's home after four months.. So much has happened in that time. most of what went on was about training hard and preparing mentally to climb bigger mountains. More on that process some other time. I'm a little pressed for time to blog today, so I'll get right to what's happened in the past two weeks.
I have successfully reached the summits of Half Done in Yosemite Valley, CA, and the highest point in California, Mt. Whitney, 14,497 feet. On Mt.Whitney my friend Dean was my climbing partner. That turned out to make the Whitney climb the most meaningful event ever in my high pointing adventures because it was as much about our time together as it was about getting up the mountain..
On Whitney we faced winds of over 70 miles an hour, a 17 hour day, two hours of trail finding in the dark on the way down, and the most beautiful landscape I have ever experienced. In the process we really got to know each other and learn about ourselves.

Signing the Summit Register for Mt. Whitney! |
I'll write more later, but for now that's a quick view of Mt. Whitney in pictures.
As for Half Dome, it was beautiful, it was populated, I received a great deal of support from fellow hikers and campers, and it was easier than I thought it would be!
